Do sole proprietors need to do the ARC form?

Under most circumstances, sole proprietors are exempt from the IRS Form 5500 filing. However, sole proprietors will receive an ARC request and are asked to answer qualifying questions to determine if the employer is exempt. If the employer is exempt, the employer will not be required to complete the ARC form.
